Peter Stahr's passion for art is evident in his abstract landscapes. His multi-layered works invite viewers to immerse themselves in multifaceted moods, to experience inner places and explore deep longings. Viewing this art is like embarking on a journey, a journey through memories and

emotions, conveyed through an abstract technique of landscape painting that skillfully combines the familiar with the unknown. His works invite viewers to embark on an inner journey, where colors, structures, and materials take on multiple meanings and guide viewers like signposts to their own soulscapes.

The artist, who was born in Germany, found artistic inspiration in various ways after studying art in Braunschweig. He worked in painting, media art, and web design, and also worked as a teacher. Since 2021, he has devoted himself entirely to fine art and now works as a freelance artist in Göttingen, where he has made a name for himself with his large-format acrylic works. Over the years, Peter Stahr recognized the expressive power of visual art as a means of communicating his inner world. This passion developed into a deep-rooted need to make emotions and personal experiences tangible through color, texture, and material.

His artistic journey began by the sea. He lived on the coast for many years, ran windsurfing schools in the Mediterranean in his younger days, and was inspired by the vastness, movement, and infinite variability of the water. These experiences continue to shape his work to this day. However, his paintings reflect not only the external landscapes that remain in his memory, but also inner currents of longing and emotion that have remained with him.

In his works, he combines acrylic paints with pigments, dispersions, pastes, and natural materials such as earth to create a special depth and texture.

His abstract landscapes are created from a mixture of intuition and technique, combining representational elements with free abstraction. Even though Stahr pursues a basic idea or vision for his compositions, each work develops dynamically during the creative process. The structure of the material, the gestural application of paint, and the layering of elements lead to surprising, organic forms that invite viewers to develop their own associations.

His series “Magic Landscapes” and “Neue Wege” (New Paths) reflect both places of longing and existential themes such as fears about the future. Through the use of color, form, and material, he creates works that stimulate reflection and allow emotions to be experienced directly.
Peter Stahr's art is more than a visual representation—it invites us to pause, dive into the depths of our own memories, and rediscover the emotional power of abstract landscapes. His works are a tribute to the interplay of nature and emotion, to transience and permanence—and to the inexhaustible source of inspiration that is the human emotional world.

His works speak from within; storytelling by an artist who leaves the traditional boundaries of landscape painting behind with impressive ease. In Stahr's works, reality and imagination merge into a powerful visual language that goes far beyond the visible. His compositions are not mere representations, but living transformations of reality; an invitation to see the world in all its complexity with new eyes and to embark on a sensual journey between reality and vision.                                                                        Liss Nau
